What to expect

Hands-on cooking lesson

Welcome cold herbal tea, 2 hot and 2 cold dishes, various local cheeses, local cured meat called “louza” and house wine from Paros, filtered water

Maria has worked as a chef since 1998 and specialized in Greek cuisine. You will meet her at her house, a rural farmhouse, where you will cook and have lunch.

This is a hands-on cooking experience using foraged wild herbs and spices and Maria will guide you through the process, sharing cooking techniques, nutritional information, and her stories as you cook together. She shares her historical and scientific knowledge about the plants, their use in herbal medicine and how to cook them in unexpected combinations.

 

You’ll prepare a unique, traditional Cycladic meal that is outside the mainstream of Greek food and highlights local cheeses, vegetables, legumes, and grains.
